From what’s included in a quote, to approvals, building, warranty and payment plans, Everlast Sheds has the answers to your shed building FAQs.

What information do I need to bring to a shed quote?

In order for us to provide an effective quote, we need as much information as possible to help you design a shed that meets your needs.

Firstly, identifing the shed’s intended use is a good start. Is it for general storage, a backyard workshop, will it house machinery, the car, animals or your antique collection? Does it need to be lockable? Does it need to be vermin proof?

Do you have any site specific issues that need to be factored in, such as slope, drainage etc.

Next, have an idea of your budget and how much wriggle room you have. This allows you to set realistic expectations.

Prepare a list of the features you require, such as personal access doors, extra height for larger vehicles, insulation, vermin proofing etc. The options are almost endless, so we find it useful to rate the desired features as ‘must haves’, ‘highly desireable’ and ‘I wish’, just incase you need to compromise on some features to keep your dream shed within your budget.

How do I arrange a quote or price for a shed?

The best way to contact us is by filling our Request a Free Quote form. Then one of our experienced team will contact you to take care of the when and where. Alternatively you can contact us on mobile 0411 550 525.

Does my quote cover everything?

Included in the quote price we give you are all of the components needed to build your shed and any applicable delivery fees.

If required, we will also give you a price for council fees and associated reports, erecting your shed and also laying a concrete slab.

All of our shed rainwater connections (gutters and downpipes) are calculated to ground level only, so if you require additional drainage or a storm water or tank connection, this would be an additional cost.

It also assumed that the shed is being built on a level site and that earthworks are not required.

Let us know your expectations, so that we can be clear in communicating exactly what will be delivered for your particular build.

Do I require Council approval for my shed?

In nearly all cases you will need some form of Council approval for your shed.

After your deposit is paid we will release watermarked engineering plans, slab and footing engineering, a slab layout diagram and a windload certificate to assist in your Council application.

Unfortunately each Council is different and this approval process can take anywhere up to 8 weeks.

We will obtain Council approvals on your behalf if requested.

What is the warranty cover on the sheds?

All of our sheds, barns and carports come with a 10 Year BlueScope Steel manufacturers warranty on sheeting and portal frames.

How long before my shed arrives?

Depending on whether you need Council approval, it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks to manufacture and deliver all the componentry to site.

If Council approval is required, we will not order your shed until the approval has been received, as Council may require amendments to specificiations. The time for Council approvals vary from Council to Council, but it can take up to 8 weeks.

Can I build my own shed?

Depending on the size of the shed, it is possible to build it yourself.

When you purchase a shed from us, you will receive a detailed construction guide to assist you.  Unfortunately sheds are not like something from an IKEA catalogue.

For larger sheds specialist machinery such as cranes and lifters maybe required, that we will look after if you require us to erect it.

Discuss your options with us when you come in for a quote.

Will you build my shed for me?

The simple answer is, YES!

No matter how small your shed or carport, we can both supply and build your shed for you.

Discuss your options with us when you come in for a quote.

How do I pay for my shed?

You can pay for your shed by direct deposit.

What is the payment plan for my shed?

If you require Council approval, a 10% deposit is required to release engineering plans.

A further 40% of the kit price is required before ordering and the remaining 50% required when your delivery date is confirmed.

If you require us to erect the building or lay down a slab, we can provide you with an agreeable payment plan during the progress of your shed being built.
